Stanislaus Leszczynski (1677-1766)

Stanislaus Leszczynski was a puppet of King Charles II of Sweden who put him on the throne when abdicated by Augustus II during the Northern War. Following the triumph of Czar Peter, Stanislaus was forced to leave Poland while Augustus II reclaimed the throne. Interestingly, on the death of Augustus II, he was elected King of Poland, but he was again forced to abdicate by Russian forces. He ended his years In France retaining his royal title and the Duchy of Lorraine from the King of France.
